Two Parking Tickets & Anna Calvi
I was fortunate enough to be given a ticket to see the 33 year old, British singer-songwriter and lethal guitarist, Anna Calvi at the Sydney Opera House last night.
I didn’t know much of her before the gig so expectations weren’t low but they weren’t high either.
What followed was the most spine-tingling gig I can remember in at least a year or two. I certainly don’t recall being blown away like I was in the Dame Joan Sutherland Hall last night, anyway.
And so today I went about scouring the city for a copy of one or both of her two albums on vinyl.
And you know what? i think it was all worth it.
