JESUS (Yes, Jesus) for The Good Weekend
In September 2012, journalist Matt Siegel and I met Jesus Christ on his property outside Kingaroy in Central Queensland. Jesus, known to non-believers of The Devine Truth as AJ Miller, says of he (He?) and his partner in his website‘s introduction:
“Just a little over 2000 years ago, we arrived on the earth for the first time. My name then was Yeshua ben Yosef, or the Jesus of the Bible, the son of Joseph and Mary. Mary’s name then was Mary of Magdala, the woman identified in the Bible as Mary Magdalene. Mary was my wife then, and the first person I appeared to after I was crucified.”
Needless to say, Matt and my experience was a curious one. We were constantly filmed by two of his followers to ensure that the truth would be known in the case that our portrayal was untruthful. In fact, if you really want to, you can watch all 2 hours and 28 minutes of one of Matt’s interviews with Jesus, courtesy of The Devine Truth website HERE.
After what was – all things considered – a cheery farewell at the conclusion of our first weekend with Jesus and his followers, Matt and I boarded a flight back to Sydney. Upon landing, Matt checked his email and was greeted by a 1554 word email explaining why he would not be welcome next weekend at a Devine Truth gathering in central NSW.
Wishfully assuming that I hadn’t been uninvited, I travelled alone to another follower’s vast property outside Armidale the next weekend. I was quickly asked to leave.
